Police Make Disturbance Arrest

The Cumberland Police responded to a residence on the 400 block of Columbia Ave for a report a disturbance.  Upon arrival the officers spoke to the parties on scene.  Through the investigation it was learned that an argument took place between a male and female that lived at the residence.  During the argument the male struck the female.  The officers observed injuries to the female that were consistent with her account of the incident.  Based on the injuries, James Joseph Hartman-Nolan, age 23, was placed under arrest for Second Degree Assault.  He was taken to Central Booking for his initial appearance with the District Court Commissioner.  He was released on his own recognizance.

On December 29th, 2021 officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue for a reported violation of a court order. Upon officer’s arrival they spoke with the victim who advised they had a Peace Order against Jawan Brodie, who was inside the residence. Officers located Brodie inside the residence, in violation of the Peace Order, and placed him under arrest. Brodie was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held without bond.

Arrest: Jawan Karim Brodie, age 28, Cumberland Maryland

Charges: Failure to Comply with a Peace Order.
