Police make Drug, Assault arrests

On Friday, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Braydien McKenzie.  The summons was issued in connection with an assault investigation that began on May 12, 2022.  Officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 400 block of Bond Street for an assault.  Police contacted the resident who reported that McKenzie entered her home uninvited.  An argument ensued between McKenize and another occupant of the residence.  Another occupant of the residence attempted to intervene and McKenzie struck him in the face.  The officer filed for charges at District Court and a summons was issued.  McKenzie was released pending trial after being served.

On Friday, June 10, 2022 at approximately 11:45 AM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department observed suspected drug activity on Maryland Avenue.  The subjects involved were then detained.  After further investigation, Malakhi Henderson and Jessica Jones were found to be in possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.  They were each issued a criminal citation and released pending trial.

On Friday, September 10th, 2021 the Cumberland Police Department served two Circuit Court warrant on Jasmond Jaquan Metheny for violating the terms of his probation order by the court in January, 2020, for assault and CDS charges.  He was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond unit he can be seen by a Circuit Court Judge.

On Friday, September 10th, 2021 the Cumberland Police Department served 3 arrest warrants on Brianna Lynn Goetz.  The warrants were issued by District for failing to appear for trial on August 23rd, 2021 for theft and CDS charges and violating the conditions of her probation order by the court back in June, 2021.  She was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.

Assault Arrest

 

On Friday, September 10th, 2021 the Cumberland Police Department responded to a N. Chase Street residence for the report of a disturbance.  When officers arrived, they spoke with a witness who described seeing a male and female involved in an argument.  Officers were able to locate the male and female in question and the determined that Brittni Sarah Davis had assaulted the male during the argument.  Officers did observe an injury to the male victim and as a result, Davis was arrested and charged with 2nd degree assault.  She was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held on a $5,000 bond.
