On July 6th, 2022 officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of West Industrial Boulevard and Virginia Avenue for a reported hit and run. Upon officers arrival they spoke with the victim and a witness who provided the officer with a description of the suspect vehicle as well as a registration plate. Officers were also able to obtain evidence at the scene that corroborated the description provided. Officers were able to locate the suspect operator, Elijah Adam Hartman, and issued him numerous traffic citations related to the hit and run. Hartman was then released pending his trial at District Court.
Arrest: Elijah Adam Hartman, age 23, Cumberland Maryland.
Charges: Hit and Run Related Citations.

On Saturday March 30, 2013, at 6:44 am, Cumberland City Police responded to a Hit and Run complaint at the 400 block of Fayette Street. Upon arrival officers observed the suspect vehicle as it was backed against the victims vehicle but unattended. An investigation was conducted and as a result it was learned that Miriah Slider, age 27 of Frostburg was the operator of the suspect vehicle when the incident took place. It was learned that upon striking the victims parked vehicle, Slider left her vehicle at the scene and left the area. Contact was later made with Slider and she was issued two traffic citations and was released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court. The Frostburg City Police Department assisted with the investigation.
