On Monday, February 26, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Ethan Wright.  The warrant was issued as the result of an incident that occurred on February 14, 2024.  On this date at approximately 6:57 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the first block of Race Street for an assault.  Police arrived and contacted the victim who had sustained injuries.  The victim reported that he was walking along Race Street when he was assaulted by unknown suspects.  Through further investigation, one of the suspects was identified as Eric Wright.  An application for charges was filed against Wright at the District Court of Allegany County.  Wright was arrested and transported to Central Booking.  Wright was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

On Friday, November 10, 2023 at approximately 11:21 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 100 block of Race Street for an assault. Police arrived and contacted the alleged victim who reported that she was strangled by Mark White.   The victim had sustained injuries consistent with her statement.  After further investigation, White was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking.  He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.
