BENCH WARRANT SERVED
On August 9th, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Amber Nicole Tallman. The warrant was issued as a result of Tallman violating terms of her probation dated on July 3rd 2024. She was originally charged with contributing to the conditions of a child. Tallman was transported to central booking, where she is currently awaiting a bond review.

ADULT ARREST
On August 9th, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 700 block of Washington Street for a theft complaint. An officer made contact with the victim who stated that property was removed from their porch. The victim advised that Valerie Lynn Peck had informed them she took the property and had attempted to destroy it. The officer then made contact with Peck as they could hear her yelling nearby. The officer spoke with Peck who advised she took the property which was observed to be in her possession. Peck was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to central booking. She was later seen by a District Court commissioner and released on her own recognizance.

ASSAULT ARREST
On Friday, July 19, 2024 at approximately 11:50 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 200 block of S. Central Avenue for an assault. Police contacted the alleged victim who reported that he had been assaulted by Rachael McKenzie. Officers observed that the victim had sustained injuries. After further investigation, McKenzie was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.

CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED
On Friday, July 19, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Joe Holland. The summons was issued as the result of an incident that occurred on June 17, 2024 at approximately 1:32 PM when police responded to a residence in the 700 block for the report of an assault. Police contacted Joe Holland who claimed that he was assaulted. The suspect in the incident was arrested. Information was later received that Holland had made a false report. On July 19, 2024, police contacted Holland who advised that he made a false police report to get the suspect arrested. Police filed for charges against Holland. Holland signed for his copy of the summons and he was released pending trial at District Court.
