***Adult Arrest***
On Friday, April 19th, 2024, the Cumberland City Police responded to the 200 block of Springdale St for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival on scene, Officers contacted several witnesses to the disturbance. All advised that a male subject had been on the property, yelling and throwing items at a car. They advised he left the scene prior to officer’s arrival. Officers then searched the area and were able to locate the subject at a nearby Virginia Ave business where the subject was again creating a disturbance. As a result, Alexander Ray Silvious, 24, was placed under arrest. He was issued a criminal citation for disorderly conduct and released, pending trial in District Court.

***Adult Arrest***
On Friday, April 19th, 2024, the Cumberland City Police responded to a residence in the 300 block of Grand Ave for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers contacted the involved parties. It was learned that an argument had occurred inside the residence, which then turned physical. During the physical altercation, it was alleged that a victim in the home was choked by the suspect, leaving physical signs of injury. As a result, James Steven Whittington, 35, was placed under arrest. He is currently awaiting an Initial Appearance.
Arrested: James Steven Whittington Age: 35
Charges: Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree.
***Adult Arrest***
On Friday, April 19th, 2024, the Cumberland City Police responded to a residence in the 800 block of Greene St for the report of an assault. Upon arrival on scene, officers made contact with the alleged victim. The victim advised that they had left the home and returned from the store. When they arrived home, an argument broke out which escalated and turned physical. The victim then alleged that the other party involved lit a firework and began to assault them with it. Officers observed burns on the victim and discovered that the residence was still full of smoke. As a result, Jennifer Marie Carretti, 41, was placed under arrest. She was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance where she was released on an $2500 unsecured bond.

Charges: Assault 2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment.
***Adult Arrest***
On Friday, April 19th, 2024, the Cumberland City Police responded to a residence in the 100 block of West Oldtown Rd for the report of an assault. Once on scene, it was learned that a physical altercation had occurred between two subjects in the home. The investigation revealed that Robert Kyle Miller, 52, had become upset after overhearing the details a phone conversation the victim was having. Miller then assaulted the victim, dragging them onto a table and floor, causing minor injuries. As a result, Miller was placed under arrest and taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance. He was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center where he is currently being held on a $5000 bond.

Criminal Summons Served
On March 22, 2024, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department served a Criminal Summons on Robyn Terry. The Criminal Summons was issued by the District Court. The original incident occurred on March 3, 2024 at UPMC Western Maryland. Officers responded and were advised that Robyn Terry had assaulted two employees. The investigation revealed that Terry had also assaulted one employee the day before.
Arrest: Robyn Terry, age 71, Cumberland Maryland.
Charge: Three counts of Assault 2nd degree.
Bench Warrant Served
On March 22, 2024, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department served a Bench Warrant on Meredith Grimm. The bench warrant was issued by Circuit Court for Failure to Appear. Grimm was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center and held without bond. The original charges were CDS possession of Paraphernalia and CDS equipment possession/distribution.
Arrest: Meredith Grimm, age 23, Cumberland Maryland.
Charge: Bench warrant Failure to appear.
