Please join us on Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 5 – 7 p.m. for the opening reception of the Student Art Showcase, where you will be treated to work by students from elementary, middle, and high school art programs across the county. Meet the students and teachers who are keeping visual art alive in our schools! Prizes will be awarded.
The Gilchrist Gallery is located at 104 Washington Street, Cumberland, MD. Parking for the event is being donated by St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 15 N. Smallwood Street on the corner of Smallwood and Washington Streets, across from the gallery. Guests can park in the church driveway and behind the building.
In addition to the opening reception, the gallery will also be open to the public on the following dates:
- April 16th 1-4 p.m.
- April 23rd 1-4 p.m.
- April 24th 1-4 p.m.
- April 30th 1-4 p.m.

The Allegany Arts Council and Allegany County Public Schools will present the Allegany County Student Art Showcase. On display on the second floor of 9 N. Centre St., above the Saville Gallery, the exhibition features a sampling of artwork in various media from students in kindergarten through 12th grade from schools across the county. A reception for the exhibition, now in its 13th year, will be held March 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The display will remain up through March 31.
