On Tuesday September 8 2020, Deputies of The Allegany County Sheriff's Office were on patrol on eastbound I68 in Cumberland when they observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.
A traffic stop was conducted and upon approaching the vehicle deputies detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle, deputies also learned that the operator was unlicensed. A probable cause search of the vehicle yielded nearly 500 grams of suspected marijuana as well as paraphernalia to indicate the illegal distribution of CDS.
Subsequently the operator, Kevin Ferney Murillo Osorio -27 years old of Jessup, MD, was arrested and charged with the following:
Possession of Mariuana >10gms
Possession w/Intent to Distribute CDS
Osorio was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await an initial appearance before a judicial officer

Early Sunday, at approximately 12:45 AM, an officer from Cumberland Police initiated a traffic stop on West Industrial Boulevard for an equipment violation.
The officer requested a K-9 officer respond to assist with the traffic stop. A K-9 scan was conducted on the vehicle. The K-9 alerted to the odor of narcotics in the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search officers found heroin and paraphernalia on passenger Nicholy James Washington.
Prior to the arrestm, Washington had provided the officer with a false name. Washington was taken before a District Court Commissioner and released on his personal recognizance.

Charges – Controlled Dangerous Substance Possession not Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, Fraudulent Identity to Avoid Prosecution, Obstructing and Hindering
