On October 31st, 2025 at approximately 8:17 p.m., officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 200 block of Paca Street for a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival contact was made with William Allen McKnew. McKnew was advised that he had been given notice that he was barred from the property, and he was currently trespassing. McKnew advised the officers that he was aware that he was not to be on the premises. He was subsequently placed under arrest and issued a citation for the offense. McKnew was released from the scene pending trial at Allegany County District Court.

On Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at approximately 4:58 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business in the 400 block of Virginia Avenue for the report of Megan Pettit trespassing on the property. Police confirmed that Pettit had been served with a no trespassing letter. Officers arrived on scene and placed Pettit under arrest. She was issued a criminal citation and released pending trial.
