On Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at approximately 1:32 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 400 block of Grand Avenue for an assault. During the course of the investigation, officers learned that Deron Elbin was in violation of a Protective Order that was issued against him. Elbin was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. Elbin was taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $1,000 bond.

On Wednesday April 12th, 2023 officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 300 block of Pear Street for a reported breaking and entering in progress. Upon officer’s arrival they spoke with the victim who advised that they had a protective order against Michael Meredith Jr, and that he was not to contact with the victim or be at the victim’s residence. Meredith was placed under arrest and taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on a $1,000 bond.
Arrest: Michael Fancis Meredith Jr, age 41, Cumberland Maryland.
Charges: Violation of an Out of State Order.
