12th Annual National Night Out Tuesday

Communities across the country will celebrate National Night Out Tuesday evening. The event that focuses on crime prevention and partnerships will be held locally along Somerville Avenue near the Salvation Army. Over 115 city, county, and community groups will be participating. Residents are encouraged to lock their doors and leave their porch lights on from dusk till dawn for crime prevention. “You’ll see squad cars, various emergency response vehicles, learn about safety and health topics and be able to partake in numerous interactive family-friendly activities. We have a DJ, a local celebrity dunk tank, all kinds of games and activities, food and drinks. Everything is free to the public at this event.”
