Tuesday’s primary election in Maryland saw several local candidates on the ballot.  In the contested Republican primary for Allegany County Commissioner it appears the three incumbents will move through to the General election.  Dave Caporale led the way, with 3,257 votes, followed by Bill Atkinson with 2,550 votes and Creade Broadie Jr. with 2,540 votes.  Dee Dee Ritchie finished in fourth place, just 327 votes behind Brodie Jr. with absentee votes yet to count.

Other races of note include the Cumberland Mayoral primary, where incumbent Mayor Ray Morriss captured 56% of the vote.  He’ll face challenger Darrell Lee Powell in the fall.
