Applications Available for Age In Place Assistance

Cumberland residents who need a little help to make their homes livable as they age can tap in to a program now available through the city. The Residential Accessibility Improvement Program may provide interior or exterior modifications to improve accessibility for homeowners. There is no minimum age for the program, but it is income-based. Chelsea Rexroad tells WCBC that residents can pick up applications at City Hall or online. But even something as little as, like this is something I didn’t think about but doorknobs replaced with lever handles – that would be something that it would cover.”
