Centre Street Assault Arrest

On July 29, 2026, at approximately 4:40 p.m., officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 600 block of Centre Street for a report of an assault. Upon arrival an officer observed a victim bleeding from their face. The victim advised that Kassidy Elizabeth Cosner and Steven Wayne Schissler assaulted them. It was advised that Cosner struck them, in the face, while Schissler grabbed them by the throat; the victim’s glasses were also broken, during the incident. Cosner and Schissler were subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. They were later presented before a District Court Commissioner and released on their own recognizance pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.
