Child Abuse Prevention Month

Allegany County Commissioners have proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.  The recognition symbolizes the community’s commitment to protecting the county’s children and highlights work being down year-round.  In 2025 alone, 489 cases were assigned for response to Child Protective Services in the County.  Tracie Wilson from the Allegany County Department of Social Services thanked the commissioners as well as the local C3I, State’s Attorney, and Jane’s Place…

“Our ability to provide best practices to families relies on that collaboration, and we remain dedicated to strengthening these partnerships to ensure affective outcomes.  Accepting this proclamation reaffirms our collective vision of safe, healthy, and supportive environment for every child.”
