County Funds Distribution Scrutinized

Issue was taken with the distribution of Allegany County funds during Thursday’s commissioner meeting.  Democratic commission candidate, Chelsea Boor, asked whether taxpayer money is funding “friends” of the commission, specifically companies Commissioner Creade Brodie has had business dealings with…

“If you’re truly of the people, tell them whether you participated in earlier discussions about these deals before stepping aside from the final vote.  Tell them how much public money and property has been committed and tell them who stands to make more money from it.”

Commissioner Brodie said he not only abstains from voting but also from discussions…

“I don’t even feel comfortable being in the building and still the rumors fly, and the only thing I can say to all of you is if you think you’ve got all this then take it down state, and go to the State’s Attorney.  I went to James Elliott and said, “James, investigate me. I’ll give you everything I’ve got, because I’m not dealing with this crap no more because that’s what it is—crap.”
