Dime-A-Drink Suggested For Healthcare

Maryland Healthcare for All, a group wanting to bring down the price of healthcare costs for residents, has a legislative agenda asking the state to raise a billion dollars in revenue. “Maryland has not raised its excise tax on hard liquor and spirits since the 50s and beer and wine since the 70s. We’re proposing a dime a drink increase in the alcohol tax and that would raise, our experts tell us, over $220 million dollars per year.”
