Fayette Street Assault

On October 4, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Ricky Allen Broadwater. The warrant was issued after an officer from the Cumberland Police Department completed an investigation regarding an assault that occurred on Fayette Street. On October 3, 2026, the officer responded to a residence on Fayette Street and contacted a victim. The victim advised that Broadwater was intoxicated and forcibly grabbed them by the arms, after causing a disturbance. The officer observed injuries on the victim’s arms that corroborated the victim’s statement. Attempts were made to locate Broadwater; however, he had left the area. The officer subsequently filed charges against Broadwater at District Court and the warrant was issued. Broadwater was arrested and transported to Central Booking where he was later presented before a District Court Commissioner and released on his own recognizance.
