Food For Fines During Library Week

Foods for Fines returns to Allegany County Libraries for National Library Week. Through Saturday, April 25^th, donations of food items for the local food pantry as well as pet food for the animal shelter can be dropped off at any of the library branches. Ashley Swinford with the library system says each item goes toward an individual’s library fines or they can pay it forward for someone else…

“You can bring in non-perishable food items to help local families in need or Purina pet food to support the Allegany County Animal Shelter. And in return, we’ll wave one dollar in library fines for every item of pound donated. And this year, there is no limit.”
