Former City Fire Chief Reflects On 9/11

“Being a fire chief in a small city like Cumberland, you’re thinking well, this happens in the big cities or whatever. But when that plane went down 36 miles from Cumberland, you’re starting to think about all the other things that could happen. Then, my concern was, was there going to be other attacks? I-68, CSX, ABL. So, as fire chief and you’re responsible for the safety of our citizens and our firefighters, you have a lot on your shoulders.”
