Moore gives the cold shoulder to Ferguson

Maryland’s Democratic Governor Wes Moore endorsed approximately 170 Democrats but notably excluded Senate President Bill Ferguson from the list. While Moore previously credited Ferguson for passing several initiatives during this year’s Maryland General Assembly session, the two leaders have recently clashed over congressional redistricting. Moore proposed redrawing Maryland’s eight U.S. House districts to counter Republican gains in other states an effort encouraged by President Trump. However, Ferguson opposed the legislation, citing concerns that the map would be found unconstitutional, similar to a 2021 bill, potentially leading to court-mandated boundaries that favor Republicans.
