Governor Moore Signs Utility RELIEF Act

Governor Wes Moore held a bill signing ceremony Tuesday putting his signature of approval on the Utility RELIEF Act.  Governor Moore says the goal for the bill is to reduce utility costs for Maryland families by speeding up new energy generation, investing in local clean energy, and stopping big corporations from shifting costs to taxpayers…

 

 

“Under this law, data centers will finally be forced to pay for any grid upgrades that they require.  Utility companies will no longer be able to come back later and pile on surprise charges. And this law puts an end to working families paying for utility executive bonuses.”

 

The Maryland Senate Republican Caucus released a statement saying that celebrating just $12 a month in savings shows just how disconnected Annapolis Democrats are from what Maryland families are actually dealing with every month.
