Grove Named Fire Marshal of the Year

Deputy State Fire Marshal Mark Grove has been honored as the 2025 James C. Robertson Deputy State Fire Marshal of the Year. Acting State Fire Marshal Jason Mowbray presented the award at the Maryland State Firefighters Annual Convention in Ocean City. Grove covers the Western Region which includes Garrett, Allegany, and Washington Counties. In 2025, he led 65 investigations, including a high-rise apartment fire in Hagerstown that forced the evacuation of nearly 200 residents and injured a firefighter.
