Heritage Areas Will Get Funding Boost

Local tourism should receive a boost from Annapolis soon. Governor Wes Moore has signed into law a bill that raises the funding cap for heritage areas across the state. Previously capped at $6 million for the funding of 13 certified heritage areas across the state, the funding cap has now doubled to $12 million. That means Passages of the Western Potomac Heritage Area may receive more funding as it prepares for major projects in the upcoming years.
