Maryland Releases New Vaccine Guidelines

Maryland’s Vax Act, passed in the spring, enacts new vaccination guidelines in advance of the flu and respiratory virus season. Health Secretary Dr. Meena Seshamani says the newly released vaccination schedule for children and adults helps prevent outbreaks and preventable diseases and ensures vaccinations remain safe, affordable and accessible in communities statewide…

“State regulated health insurers in Maryland are now required to cover all routine state recommended immunizations with zero out of pocket costs to their enrollees. Pharmacists can now administer recommended vaccines to anyone aged three and older without a doctor’s prescription.”
