Moore, Cox Debate Ahead Of Election

Jim Zamagias

Incumbent Maryland Governor Wes Moore, a Democrat, shared the stage Tuesday with Republican challenger Dan Cox for a debate aired on WCBC Radio. The two sparred on a range of issues including immigration, SNAP and Medicaid, and there was an interesting back and forth when Moore was asked if he would serve the full four-year term…

“I’m committed to the people of Maryland and that’s why I’m running for re-election. That’s what we’ve been doing this entire time to make sure that it’s the people of Maryland that’s going to be supported.”

Dan Cox brought up Moore’s national endeavors and Governor Moore responded to that statement…

“This governor will not look you in the eyes again and promise to not run for president. I know I know you’re ready to run against Shapiro and Witmer and Newsom but the people of Maryland needs someone who have their concerns first.”

“Dan Cox seems to be more interested in my future than he is about the future of the people of Maryland. And so I’m very clear about where my focus is and the people of Maryland know that as well.”
