Ocean City Church Defying City, Fines
An Episcopal church in Ocean City is in trouble for a homeless shelter inside its building. St. Paul’s By The Sea Episcopal church has had a homeless shelter since 2025 when they allowed people to camp on their property in tents. Ocean City is fining the church $1,000 a day because the shelter in the church does not meet city code. Reverend Jill Williams tells WBOC the fight is going to a higher power….
“We’ll file for federal protection so that our rights as a church to carry out our mission and tell about our faith will be protected federally.”
