Pennsylvania Releases Broadband Funding

Governor Josh Shapiro has released the first round of funding from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration to close the gap for broadband connectivity in Pennsylvania. Since the Governor took office, the number of households that lack access to high-speed internet has decreased by nearly 60 percent across the Commonwealth. Bedford and Somerset counties will both benefit from the funds announced…

“$448 million dollars is going out to fund 41 projects in 50 counties across Pennsylvania to connect more than 71,000 homes and businesses to high-speed, affordable internet. More than half of the remaining sites without internet access.”
