Portion Of Route 51 Closed Due to Overturned Trailer

On March 12, 2026 at 1330 hours, the MSP Cumberland Barrack received a report regarding a flatbed tractor trailer that had overturned, obstructing all travel lanes on a rural section of Maryland Route 51 (22816 Oldtown Road) while transporting several scrap vehicles. Troopers are currently present at the scene and have indicated that the roadway will remain closed for several hours until the tractor trailer and the vehicles can be cleared. There are no reported injuries resulting from the incident. State Highway Administration has been notified and on scene.
