Sports Wagering Up Over Last Year

Maryland’s sports wagering market is growing with a considerable lift between 2025 and 2026 fiscal years. At the end of June, the market had generated over $132 million in tax revenue for the state, an increase of 48.8% over fiscal year 2025. In June, sports bettors in Maryland wagered $523.3 million dollars and won back $468.7 million. Sports wagering operators contribute part of their taxable proceeds to the Maryland Blueprint For Education Fund and the state’s General Fund.
