Springdale Street Trespassing, Obstructing & Hindering, CDS Arrest

On June 18, 2026, an officer with the Cumberland Police Department was patrolling the area of East Industrial Boulevard and Springdale Street when he observed a male walking on railroad tracks on CSX property.\ The officer contacted the male, who identified himself as “Aaron Smith”. During the encounter, the subject fled on foot near Queen Street. The officer initiated a brief foot pursuit. During the pursuit, the subject attempted to ingest a suspected controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and was found possessing suspected CDS paraphernalia. The individual was later positively identified as Zachary Stewart and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center for his initial appearance.
