Street side Dining changes coming to Downtown

A restaurant that’s been in business for over 27 years is being forced to make adjustments to their outside dining. City Lights American grill was informed by the city that they were adjusting their outside dining permit to accommodate the new Wills Mountain 1867 restaurant. Cumberland Mayor, Ray Morris…
“For City Lights we had to make an adjustment on their outdoor dining area because now that the Wills hotel will be opening they want there outdoor dining area on basically adjacent to their property.”
City Lights had been offering 10 tables before the Baltimore Street redesign project took effect and then was permitted eight tables under the new street configuration. The city of Cumberland is now permitting City Lights six tables for outside dining. Cumberland Economic Development Corporation is working with the City Lights to adjust their outdoor seating and increase capacity.
