Trespassing Posted Property Arrest

On Saturday, April 25, 2026 at approximately 8:07 AM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department was conducting a foot patrol of Canal Place when he observed James Roy walking in an area posted against trespassers. Police also learned that Roy had an active bench warrant. The warrant was issued as the result of Roy failing to appear in court on an original charge of Trespass-Railroad Property. He was arrested and transported to Central Booking. He was issued a criminal citation for the trespassing and seen by a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing. Roy was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a temporary commitment.
