Superintendent Pleased With Student Population Locally

Dr. Michael Martirano, Superintendent of Allegany County Public Schools is himself a product of the local school system. Having served in various capacities as teacher, county superintendent, and state school superintendent for West Virginia schools, Dr. Martirano has met thousands of students moving along their educational pathways. On coming back to Western Maryland, he said he has had great interactions with students here…
“What I’ve found is that our students in Allegany County are a kinder, gentler school system. They’re kinder, gentler students. They’re respectful, they’re engaging. They’re communicative. And I’ve absolutely enjoyed getting to know them.”
