Traffic Violation on Shades Lane Leads to Arrest

On Sunday, July 19, 2026, at 2:00 AM an officer from the Cumberland Police Department observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on Shades Lane. The officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the operator Jesse Hoover. Hoover would not provide his name or license to the officer. The officer ordered Hoover out of the vehicle but he refused to comply. Hoover was removed from the vehicle and arrested after a brief struggle. A pair of metal knuckles was located in the vehicle at the time of his arrest. Hoover is currently awaiting his initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
