Virginia drivers collide with wildlife over 60,000 times a year. Now, the state-established Wildlife Corridor Grant Fund lets Virginians donate to help build wildlife crossings.  Misty Boze with Wildlands Network says animals would be funneled into tunnels near collision hotspots using fence or netting that will be relatively affordable to produce…

“We can figure out where the hotspots are, where most of those crashes are occurring–because they do have patterns–and we can put these lower cost crossings in place where they can make a big difference.  People really do donate to these causes. Throughout th e country, we have been very impressed with how folks will really step up and donate for wildlife crossings.”
