Federal Gas Tax Holiday?

President Trump told CBS News in a phone interview Monday that he is considering lifting the federal gas tax for some relief at the gas pump. That would take an act of Congress however and would not affect state gas taxes. In Allegany County, gas is averaging $4.47 a gallon, up twenty cents from a week ago. “This coming week may see a bit of a jump in many states across the country. The national average could reach a new multi-year high. It could jump to $4.65 a gallon in the next few days.”
