Water Facility Looms Large in City Future

The City of Cumberland’s water supply facility in neighboring Pennsylvania will soon need major upgrades. Mayor Ray Morriss said that while state and federal government funds are readily available for sewer treatment facilities, it is often more challenging to procure government funds for a city water supply.
“The one I look at and say that we really need to work on is the water treatment facility because you’re pushing 80 years old and that’s going to be a really big lift for the city to do.”
