Westernport Library Receives Honorable Mention

The Westernport Library has received national recognition as an Honorable Mention in Library Journal’s Best Small Library in America list. The library was one of a handful of locations recognized nationwide for service to populations under 25,000. After 2025 floods destroyed the library, staff refused to let the library close and operated outdoor checkout services from the parking lot before reopening in a smaller, temporary location in Westernport six months later.
