WV Dems Vote Against Human Trafficking Bill
All Democrats in the West Virginia House recently voted against HB4433 which would strengthen human trafficking and human smuggling laws. Democrats in the House said wording in the bill could cause potential legal jeopardy for churches or other West Virginians. “I’m going to stress this again, because I know there are people watching this. I’ve had people message me, saying there’s confusion about this bill. They’re concerned that people who just want to provide help could face criminal prosecution. You will not. You will not if your intentions are only to provide help.”
