The Cumberland Times News reports one person was taken to the hospital as a result of two early morning vehicle crashes Wednesday in Allegany County, according to the Allegany County 911 emergency center.
At 3:23 a.m., a single-vehicle accident on Bedford Road near Hannah Drive prompted alert of the Bedford Road Volunteer Fire Department, Bowman's Addition ambulance, State Highway Administration and Potomac Edison Company. A utility pole was severed and extensive damage resulted to the vehicle involved in the crash, police said. There were no medical transports from the scene.
Maryland State Police investigated the crash that occurred in the 12500 block of Bedford Road.
Just before 5 a.m., one person was injured in an accident on westbound Interstate 68 near the 64-mile marker and taken to a hospital.
Orleans and Flintstone volunteer fire departments and a Washington County paramedic unit responded to the scene, according to the 911 center.
State police investigated.
