The Allegany County School Superintendent's Student Advisory Board came up with the idea to create mock Presidential ballots for all ACPS high school students (grades 9-12) to cast in an effort to get students more engaged in the political process and to help them become more civic-minded young adults.
Conducted in all English classes, and in conjunction with the Allegany County Association of Student Councils' Mock Presidential Debate, a total of 1,941 completed ballots were collected out of nearly 2,500 high school students. The results were as follows: Trump, 58%; Johnson, 24%; Clinton, 18%.
