BOE Member Schedules Town Hall Style Meeting

September 14th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

Wayne Foote, a member of the Allegany County Board of Education, has scheduled a “town hall-style” meeting for this Thursday, September 17th. The public session is a follow up on a campaign pledge to hold such meetings. Foote said he is calling the forum, the ‘Little Red School House Meeting.’  He says part of the reason he is conducting the meeting is because there are people who don’t want to attend the regular monthly school board meetings, and it can been difficult to get answers at the board’s business meetings and work sessions. Thursday’s meeting will provide an opportunity for parents, staff and students to express their opinions on the county’s education system. There have been rumors that some of Foote’s fellow board members are not happy that he will be hosting such a forum on his own. While no one is saying that publicly, Board President Nick Hadley did make a brief mention of the event when he wrapped up last week’s school board meeting. Hadley emphasized that Foote’s opinions and comments expressed will be his alone, and not representative of the elected board…
