Brodie Comments on Clinton’s Stance on Coal Industry

Although she has since attempted to offer clarity to her comments,  Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton landed in hot water last month when she suggested her administration would deal further blows to the already struggling American coal industry. During a national television appearance, Clinton touted her plan released last year to put $30 billion toward protecting the health benefits of coal miners and their families. The specific quote that angered many in Appalachian country was “we’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business".
