Changes to school board health care plan won’t be easy

With health care for employees and their families as well as retirees costing the Allegany County Board of Education more than $25 million annually- reducing those costs will be a priority in the coming months as the budget process moves forward. Contracts with various employee groups expire in June, opening the door for some changes to the current split that the system pays compared to the employees. Board member Sara Beth Bittinger said while its easy to suggest simply proposing a 50/50 split- in reality it is not that easy to achieve
