On Wednesday September 27th, 2017 officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 1500 block of E. Oldtown Rd for a report of a subject that had kicked a vehicle, causing damage. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the victim, who reported that he observed a white male standing next to his vehicle, looking at it. When he approached the subject, he walked away and entered a nearby apartment. The officer was approached by a witness who advised that they had witnessed the same subject kicking the victims the vehicle. The officer observed several dents in the side of the vehicle, which caused a significant amount of damage. The officer located the suspect, identified as Steven William McDonald, age 24 of Cumberland, MD. McDonald was identified as the suspect and was placed under arrest for Malicious Destruction of Property. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was released on a $1,500 unsecured bond.
