City Police Make Domestic Disturbance Arrest

On Thursday, July 13, 2017 at approximately 4:30 PM, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Columbia Avenue residence in reference to a domestic disturbance.  Upon the officers’ arrival, they contacted the victim who reported that her son, Brion Jacobs, stole her rent money, approximately $700.  She explained that she confronted him about the missing money and he attacked her, slamming her against the wall. It was reported that the victim had been assaulted by Jacobs on the previous day also. The victim had sustained minor injuries.  Police also learned that Jacobs had active bench warrants for failing to appear for his court cases at the Allegany County District Court. Jacobs was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. Jacobs was taken before the District Court Commissioner where he was held on temporary commitment at the Allegany County Detention, pending his initial hearing.

CHARGES:  Assault-2nd Degree
