On Wednesday, an officer from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the Allegany County Animal Shelter for a theft.
Upon the officer’s arrival he contacted a shelter employee. The employee told the officer that Zachary Goldsworthy arrived at the center and removed his canine without paying the accumulated fees/fines.
The officer then spoke with Goldsworthy who told him that he couldn’t afford to pay the shelter’s fees. Therefore; he opened the cage and tried to walk away with his dog. The officer placed Goldsworthy under arrest and transported him to the station. He was later released on a criminal citation pending trial in District Court.
Arrested:
Zachary Charles Goldsworthy, 27 Y/O, Cumberland, MD
