Cox Comments on Crowded Classrooms at Bel Air

A caller to WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” Wednesday expressed concern with what she believes to be an overcrowded classroom at Bel Air Elementary School- noting that there were some 34 students in one fourth grade class.  Allegany County Superintendent of Schools David Cox confirmed that situation, but added that its not unusual for some classes to be overcrowded and others under populated during the first few weeks of a new school year. Staffing assignments and last minute student transfers and registrations are issues that usually create such problems.  He says they are often times easily  resolved once the specific issues are identified after the first few weeks….
