CPD Serve Warrant & Make Domestic Assault Arrest

On Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 the Cumberland City Police Department served a criminal warrant on Reginel Dechaus. The warrant was issued as a result of a burglary investigation of a residence on Shriver Ave. Dechaus was served the warrant and taken before the Allegany County District Court Commission who remanded Dechaus to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

Reginel Dechaus, age 31, Cumberland, MD.

Burglary, 3rd and 4th, Assault 2nd Degree, Violation Exparte.

 

Domestic Assault Arrest

On Wednesday, May 25th, 2016 the Cumberland City Police Department responded to the area of Fairmont Ave for a reported domestic assault. After officers arrived on scene they made contact with a female victim and suspect Robert Paul Bennett Jr. After speaking with both parties it was determined Bennett had struck the female several times in the head causing an injury to her ear. Bennett was taken into custody for domestic assault and transported to Cumberland City Police Department. He was charged, processed, and taken before the District Court Commissioner’s Office where he was released without bond.
