Mid-Atlantic Health Care, LLC today announced that it has expanded its services in Western and Central Maryland to include four additional skilled nursing facilities.

As of Jan. 1, Mid-Atlantic Health Care will own and operate these four Maryland facilities:

•   Northampton Manor Health Care Center – Frederick, Md.

•   Devlin Manor Health Care Center – Cumberland, Md.

•   Julia Manor Health Care Center – Hagerstown, Md.

•   Moran Manor Health Care Center – Westernport, Md.

The acquisition of these four facilities, along with Mid-Atlantic’s currently owned facilities in Oakland and Cumberland, creates the first fully integrated western Maryland skilled nursing and rehabilitation network. Mid-Atlantic will operate the largest group of facilities in western Maryland and become one of the region’s largest employers.

The facilities are being acquired from the Magnolia group, a skilled nursing facility owner / operator and provider of rehabilitation services in Maryland and Pennsylvania.  Magnolia will continue to provide rehabilitation services at the centers through its affiliated Magnolia Rehabilitation Services, LLC.

Veteran physician and healthcare executive Scott Rifkin, CEO and co-founder of Mid-Atlantic Health Care, said he is thrilled to carry on the legacy of local, community care that these facilities have provided.

“At Mid-Atlantic Health Care, we feel that the facilities we own and manage should be an extension of the communities we serve,” Dr. Rifkin said. “We view our agreement with Magnolia as an absolute positive. As a Company, we thrive on providing places where people come to get healthy. Our increased presence in Western Maryland is an opportunity to focus on this community’s medical needs and have a positive impact on people’s lives.”

Mid-Atlantic Health Care prides itself on providing the highest quality of healthcare. Facilities offer a caring environment, quality hands-on clinical and nursing services, and a commitment to outstanding, patient-centered care. Mid-Atlantic is a leader in managing skilled short term stays for rehabilitation as well as long term care.

Adding the Magnolia facilities will increase Mid-Atlantic Health Care’s total number of locations from 17 to 21. Mid-Atlantic Health Care also owns and operates two other skilled nursing facilities in Western Maryland: Allegany Health Nursing & Rehabilitation in Cumberland, Md., and Oakland Nursing & Rehabilitation in Oakland, Md.
